though it's still quite toasty down here in savannah, it is apparently fall in other parts of the country. while fall is my favorite season and i find myself always looking forward to cooler weather {perhaps because georgia in summer is a little too humid for my tastes}, i can see why those of you in colder climates {vermont comes to mind} may dread the impending cold.
ergo, i bring y'all a drink to help you cling to those final days of summer:
cherry bourbon lemonade.

bourbon is such an autumnal liquor, in my opinion; the delightful hint of earthy vanilla, its gorgeous caramel color and its ability to warm your bones when it's chilly out all make it just as fitting for fall as a pumpkin spice latte {!}.
lemonade, on the other hand, is an unquestionably summertime refreshment; light and airy with just the right ratio of sweetness to tartness, it is the perfect warm weather drink.
together, the two are quite the balancing act - a yin and yang, if you will! rounded out with cherry for a fruity shock of flavor, this drink is truly perfect for those days that exist somewhere in between summer and fall, when it's chilly in the mornings but the midday sun beats down just as hot as ever.
click here for the recipe, and if you try it {which you should}, be sure to let me know how you liked it!
as always, have a beautiful thursday.
XO,
jennifer
