Feisty Fashionista

My name is Lauren Lanza Osias and I love two things in the world: fashion and weddings. I was married almost two years ago in beautiful Savannah, GA. We had a truly beautiful wedding and I don't regret any of my choices, but for some reason I can't shake my desire to get married again and again, to my husband of course ;) or perhaps Orlando Bloom. Ah, dreams.

Wedding fashion has evolved so much in the past few years, no more antiquated rules about what is and isn't appropriate, which is great for me because I have never done well with rules. Your wedding is an exciting time for you to express your personality through fashion. Your day is such a special time for you and your other half, but let's be honest - - it's pretty much all about you looking and feeling fantastic as you enter into wedded bliss. I would love to help. So, every Friday I will be here to update you on the trends for upcoming seasons, trunk shows, working on a budget, dressing your body type, and most importantly, how to not make your bridesmaids look like swamp people.

I look forward to helping you avoid all things puffy and polyester.

with carnations…YES CARNATIONS!

black and white wedding carns Now..if I didn’t tell you that this picture was of carnations, would you have guessed it? I don’t think so! I even did a double take. Talk about classy, eh! I know you are saying to yourself…”Morgan..every dog gets a bone once in a while….yes they are nice but that is about all ya got right?” Well, let me show you more and why I think carnations are DA BOMB….

I was just at a final floral meeting for a bride of mine whose wedding is in April and one of my favorite florists and I needed to get the amount of the floral contract down, but still keep the arrangements full and classy.  She and I agreed that carnations get a really bad wrap. My guess is because they weren’t always used to the best of their ability (more like in funerals and really bad prom corsages – you know what I am talking about!) and maybe you didn’t have a fabulous floral designer???? But here is the REAL DEAL on carnations:

1. They are a great flower to use as a “FILLER” flower. carns pink carnations and roses

2. They come in a wide variety of colors. Think of a color…carnations probably come in any color you can think of! (within reason of course) …..Even green!

3. THEY ARE INEXPENSIVE!!!!

Need I say more here? Who doesn’t want more bang for your buck?  Because of the low cost of these flowers, it enables you to do more with them. Look at this really neat “CAKE STAND” and imagine doing that in orchids?!?!? I DONT THINK SO! place card carnationscarnation cakebase 4.  They are a durable flower.

This is a flower that will hold up in any weather, being moved around, and will last for an extensive period of time, even without water. Some other flowers that are full as well, (hydrangea), do not seem to last as well in the heat or out of water.  carnation ball by marthacarnations in pink

5. You can get them Year Round. Unlike some flowers, these flowers are available all year long!

with Jennifer and Micah….

Jennifer and Micah

Jennifer Yates & Micah McGee

Date Engaged

12/29/2008

Where did you meet?

Micah and I met when we were 16! He was working at the local movie theatre. I went to a cast party at the movie theatre with another friend of mine who worked there. We saw each other and that was it! It turned out I was friends with one of Micah's best friends. Micah asked his friend about me and the next day he asked me on a date. Seven and a half years later here we are!

How did he propose?

Micah proposed to me on December 29th which is my birthday. The whole day was perfect, I woke up to breakfast in bed and a foot rub. After having lunch with family and friends Micah gave me my birthday presents.

He told me he had a dinner planned for just the two of us that night.

I got ready for dinner and we were off to the restaurant. We had dinner at McIntoshes Steakhouse and it was great. We left dinner and came back home, I thought for sure our day was over but when we got home he pulled out a bottle of champagne and told me I had one more present. He told me it was outside and he would go get it. When he came back in he said ok it is cold outside so you can go upstairs and see your present outside the window. He made me close my eyes and led me up all seventeen steps with my eyes closed. He took me into the upstairs bedroom and to the window. Then he said open your eyes, he uncovered my eyes and there on our front porch was "Will You Marry Me" spelled out and lit up in candles. I started crying and turned around and he was down on one knee!

When is your wedding date?

April 10, 2010

Why did you pick the area you are getting married in?

Micah and I came to Savannah for first time for a romantic getaway just before Christmas in 2007. I had just returned to the states after studying abroad in Europe. We had been in separate time zones and countries for too long! We fell in love with each other again and fell in love with Savannah as soon as we got there. It just made sense to get married there!

Where do you reside now?

Charlotte, North Carolina

Anything interesting or out of the ordinary you are including in your wedding day?  Micah's 9 year old sister will be my maid of honor :)

with Whitney and Trey.....

whitney and trey reception

Whitney and Trey were married in Savannah, GA on November 22nd and it was quite the joyous affair! They brought one of my favorite photographers, Karyn Iserman,  in from Charleston, SC to capture each and every moment of their day.  I must say, she did a fabulous job! Whitney and Trey are so in love and it was very apparent throughout their planning process with me and especially on their wedding day. They exchanged the most meaningful gifts right before the ceremony and I have to say, they had me balling! Whitney, being the hip and energetic bride she was, wanted every guest to have a great time and she made sure that happened! Before she had two feet in the door of the reception, she asked if people were dancing and insisted it was time to hit the dance floor and bump up the music! Before the end of the night..there wasn’t a spare space on that dance floor. As we sent them off in style down Broughton Street on a rickshaw, I thought back on all the time we spent planning the day and how perfectly it came and went! Whitney and Trey, you love is heartfelt, thank you for sharing it with us and thank you for making us a part of your day.

What an honor.....

This just announced...Morgan Gallo Events has won the 2009 Bride’s Choice Awards™!

In its inaugural year, the Bride’s Choice Awards recognizes and honors vendors from the WeddingWire Network that demonstrate excellent quality of service, responsiveness, professionalism, value of cost and flexibility. This year’s recipients represent the top three percent of WeddingWire’s vendor community, which includes over 100,000 wedding vendors from across the US. That means Morgan Gallo Events is one of the very best Wedding Planner.

Unlike other awards in which winners are selected by the company, the Bride’s Choice Awards are determined exclusively by recent newlyweds through surveys and reviews.

“We are excited to launch this annual award program to honor high-performing vendors based solely on the experiences of our WeddingWire community,” according to Timothy Chi, WeddingWire’s Chief Executive Officer. “This year’s recipients have set the bar high, exhibiting excellent service and expertise in the wedding industry.”

"We would like to thank our past clients for speaking on our behalf and helping us win the 2009 Bride’s Choice Award!"
