{real wedding} WEDNESDAY :: final week of july 2013 round-up.

y'all,

so it's been what - a moon? - since i last compiled my favorite weddings featured 'round the bloggy world. obviously, i need to get on it! following are some of my favorites with a brief explanation of what makes them special;)

coziest venue {her grandmother's lakefront cabin}:
this wedding just oozes a comfortable atmosphere full of love and happiness. it's also full of diy, straight-from-the-heart details that are almost too sweet to be true. check it out!

 {via 100 layer cake}

fanciest outdoor ceremony backdrop:
i think it's really cool when brides and grooms are able to create a church-like atmosphere outdoors. their petal aisle and wooden cathedral-style windows did the job perfectly!

 {via every last detail}

coolest table names and centerpieces:
so i officially adore this color scheme. coral + mint has been insanely popular recently but i haven't seen it done quite like this before with the pops of aqua and orange mixed in. i also love how they personalized their table names + escort cards, which you'll have to click thru to the original post to see;)

 quirkiest way to get guests from the ceremony to the reception:
these guys, known as "mummers", led guests across one of philly's busiest streets to the reception venue. if that's not a hilariously fun way to get the party started, i don't know what is!

 {via oh lovely day}

cutest color combo {hot pink + navy}:
click through to the original post to see the ombre pink ribbon adorned chairs, hot pink table linens and navy blue runners! i'm also more than a little in love with her bouquet.

 {via southern weddings}

most stunning backdrop for photos:
dear georgia coastline: why can't you look more like california? i'd really appreciate stunning rocky views like this one a little closer to home. sincerely, jennifer

sweetest welcome bags:
this bride not only hand designed the entire welcome guide and gift bag, she also included a signature cocktail recipe with all the fixin's for guests to enjoy!

have a beautiful rest of your wednesday, ladies & gentlemen!

{tips & tricks} TUESDAY :: choosing a first dance song {with help from apw!}

y'all,

while this is perhaps a conversation you are more likely to have with your dj {and, of course, your spouse-to-be}, i think it's important as a planner to help our couples out with suggestions regarding all aspects involved in your wedding.

that being said, i stumbled upon {as i so often do} a great compilation/discussion {check out the comments section} of "slow and weepy" first dance songs while browsing through my blog roll today.

courtesy of a practical wedding and part of an ongoing series, this fab compilation will inspire even the most unsure among you!

hey, not all of us have a super weepy, signature love song with our significant others - and that's okay! we're here to help;)

have your own suggestions? let me know in the comments!

XO,

jennifer

{make it your own} MONDAY :: pressed cotton.

hi there, y'all!

i hope your week is getting off to a fabulous start. i'm still a bit fuzzy from my overly indulgent weekend in charleston {if you ever go, please please please visit mccrady's and have the lady killer - it is honestly the best drink i've ever had in my life. we'll discuss this more on thursday, don't worry;)}.

however, i have quite the resource website to share with you all today:

{pressed cotton}

these guys have some seriously cute stuff that you can use at your wedding to give your decor a unique twist and then turn around to make your home look beautiful, too! what's not to love about that?

here's a small sampling of a few of my favorites:

these pillows are too sweet. i adore them as accent pillows for a reception lounge area and as pillows for your marriage bed!

these blueprint table numbers make me think of a particular architect couple whose wedding we coordinated last year. they chose to use old maps in their decor, but blueprints would be so sweet too! you could reuse these in an edgy wall display at home after the wedding - add a frame {maybe a floating glass one?} and voila

a bud vase that doubles as a table number holder? sign me up! these would get a ton of use after the wedding on your dining room table, or even hung up on your walls. love love love!

seed packet escort card favors are a lovely gesture that are both practical and environmentally-friendly. these are a more cost-effective, transportable version of the "plant a sapling in honor of the bride and groom" trend, which is sweet but sadly not usually a big hit among the raucous reception crowd. drunk folk are generally averse to transporting mini pine trees around with them after the reception - who'd have thought?

and last but not least: soapstone chalk! soapstone is sturdier and more durable than your typical crayola or roseart chalk, making it perfect for decorating some of the beautiful slate and chalkboard products that pressed cotton also carries.

so what do y'all think? do you have any favorites of your own on their site besides the ones i've featured here? let me know in the comments!

have a beautiful monday;)

XO,

jennifer

*sadly, this was in no way a sponsored post and pressed cotton has no idea who i am or why i am hawking their wares to our readers. i simply featured them because i adore their products and want to spread the good news to all of you lovely folks ;)

{floral} FRIDAY :: the final week of july, 2013.

may i present this week's selections from...

ruffled:

 i adore the soft pinks, peaches & mint with gold glitter vases - i'll never tire of it!

 ditto for bright florals in blue glass vases - so pretty!

i've never seen a prettier rustic indoor aisle runner...

 this escort card display evokes a fairy-tale feel - perfect for the whimsical bride!

my favorite floral alternative: herbs! these were so lovely for the garden feel this wedding had.

southern weddings:

such sweet table composition for the bookish bride + groom mixed with an english garden feel.

you don't get more dramatically gorgeous than a bouquet full of white orchids - love!

wedding chicks:

talk about a bright, drama-laden floral wreath - fancy ;)

green wedding shoes:

beautiful for a mexican-inspired fete... i'd maybe wrap it with some turquoise fabric.

 so this lovely wildflower-ish bouquet above is the bride's, and below are the bridesmaids' bouquets:
how fabulous of an idea to have each bridesmaid carry a unique bouquet to contrast with the color of her specific dress! ladies, this idea is a keeper. i heart it.

psssst... you too can use the cute fonts below by clicking here!

have a fab friday and a beautiful weekend, y'all!

{thirsty} THURSDAY :: margarita mix and my discovery of the effervescently lovely mrs. lillien.

y'all,

i have a wee bit of a girl crush on a certain fancy femme who goes by the name of mrs lillien & whose graphic design loves set my heart aflutter. in perusing her blog the other day, i stumbled upon the following refreshing margarita mix recipe sans any icky high fructose corn syrup or gmo-laden junk.

{via mrs. lillien}

stay thirsty my lovelies & have a beautiful day!

jennifer

{real wedding} WEDNESDAY :: kate + kyle.

dear ladies & gentlemen,

today i have the pleasure of sharing kate + kyle's beautiful wedding that took place at wormsloe plantation and garibaldi's in city market.

watermelon-infused water was a welcome refreshment for guests at the outdoor ceremony

how fantastic is this musket pen that guests used to sign the guestbook?!

kiwi fleur did a beautiful job of decorating the ceremony space

 i just love that her mama walked her down the aisle. how sweet!

their officiate was also a cousin - isn't that lovely?

kristin king's trio provided heavenly ceremony music

 they're husband and wife!

funny story: her matron of honor was married to his best man, and her bridesmaid was married to his groomsman! now that doesn't happen every day...

who's the real couple here, guys?
