Future Savannah Wedding: Sarah + Michael

Sarah Kidder + Michael Rivera

Date engaged
 7/13/2012

Where did you met?
We met in Charleston, SC at the Citadel's Dog Day event. He was a Citadel Cadet and I went to the College of Charleston.

How did he propose?
I am a contract archaeologist and last summer I was working for months on end up in upstate New York. Michael flew in late on a Friday night. It was midnight by the time his plane finally landed. I was very tired from a long day of working and then waiting up for is flight. As he came out of the gate he was holding a manila envelope with my name on it....as he got closer to where I was waiting he dropped down on one knee and opened the envelope to reveal "Marry Me?" I was half-dazed and smiling and of course accepted. :-)

What is your wedding date?
Friday, October 18th, 2013

Why did you picked the area you're getting married in?
We knew we wanted to get married on the coast since we'd met in Charleston. We actually got lucky and stumbled across the chapel while looking online for a venue. The Tybee Island Wedding Chapel is so classic and has such a simple beauty that we were looking for.

Where do you reside now?
We are currently living in Macon, Georgia.

WOW what a proposal!!! :) Way to go Michael! We are very much looking forward to the big day you two.

Future Savannah Wedding: Molly + Tommy

Molly Dwyer and Tommy O'Connor

Date Engaged
August 21, 2012

Where did you meet?
We both went to undergrad at Georgetown.  In the fall of our senior year, I threw myself a birthday party at a champagne lounge where I waitressed.  Tommy was invited to join by one of my roommates, and we immediately hit it off.  Needless to say, it was an amazing birthday!

How did he propose?
At Farrington's Bar in Dublin.  We took our first big international trip in August 2012, and on the second day, we stayed in a great, historic pub in Temple Bar, Dublin.  We could hear the music and toasting from the pub below, and Tommy proposed in early evening right before dinner.  We walked around Dublin for hours, and he told me all the details leading up to the engagement.  It was the perfect night!

When is your wedding date?
October 11, 2014

Why did you pick the area you are getting married in?
Neither one of us is from the South, but my parents have been taking our family on yearly vacations to Hilton Head for the past two decades.  The first time that Tommy met my parents was during one of these annual trips, and he won my dad over on the golf course.  We have so many wonderful memories in the area, and you can't beat the Southern charm!

Where do you reside now?
I am finishing law school in DC, and Tommy lives, works and studies in Manhattan.  I'm moving back up to New York as soon as I graduate in May.  The long distance is finally coming to an end!

Anything interesting or out of the ordinary you are including in your
wedding day?
We have lots of surprises planned for the weekend, but we're definitely hoping to bring some Irish traditions and Southern details to the wedding.  Plus with two big Irish families, we expect lots of late night drinking and singing!

Anything else you would like to add?
We couldn't be more excited for the big day!

Holy Moly--a proposal in Ireland. Can it get any more romantic than that?!?! Love it! We are honored to be a part of this with you two!

Future Hilton Head Wedding: Maggie + Justin

Maggie + Justin

Date Engaged
12.15.12

Where did you meet?
University of Missouri — we were both on the Alumni Association Student Board

How did he propose?
Justin and I have been together close to 7 years. We had plans to walk down the street to a great little French bistro dinner and then come home to open Christmas gifts from one another. All day leading up to dinner he was just acting kind of funny...just kind of kept following me around (so much that at one point I think I asked him “do you need a project or something?” :) Well, before dinner he’d told me that in addition to his gifts, his twin brother Jason had also gotten me a present, but wanted to see me open it—which meant Justin needed to record it on his iPad. Now Jason is a bit of a prankster, so I’m thinking this “gift” is either going to scare me or embarrass me (esp. if he needs to see me open it!) I’m getting nervous...especially when Justin tells me the gift has to go in the fridge before we go to dinner (I’m thinking...what was this that didn’t need to be refrigerated before!?) Anyway, dinner is lovely. We get home and Justin tells me I should open his brother’s gift first. He says I need to put on a blind fold  while he gets the gift and gets it ready for me. So I’m standing by the Christmas tree with a scarf tied around my eyes...and when he tells me I can take it off, he’s down on one knee. The “gift” from Jason was all just a decoy so that he could video record it...and put the bottle of Dom Perignon in the fridge :)

Why did you pick the area you are getting married in?
Several years back, we took our first trip to the Carolina coast for a college friend’s wedding. We fell in love with the area (we hope to have frequent friend and family beach house vacations there in the future!) and the wedding was incredible. Having been together so long, we knew we wanted a small, intimate destination wedding (our families are from St. Louis and Kansas City and we live in Des Moines) that would be a celebration of us and all of the people who have supported us for so many years!

Where do you currently reside?
Des Moines, Iowa

AHH you guys are adorable and I love the proposal story. SO smart Justin--Dom P and recording the proposal. Fabulous and a special memory you get to replay over and over again. We are so honored to be a part of this with you both and know that the big day will be nothing short of amazing!

Future Savannah Wedding: Heather + Stig

Heather Howard + Stig Rasmussen

Date Engaged
February 14, 2013

How did you meet?
We work at the same airline, him as a pilot and me as a flight attendant, and we met on a deadheading flight from JFK to Portland, Maine. It all started that night in Portland.

 How did he propose?
Stig proposed in Central Park on Valentine's Dy this year. We were having drinks in Columbus Circle near the park and after leaving the bar, he suggested a walk in the park. While walking, he asked if I wanted to have a seat to receive my Valentine's present, so we climbed a rock and sat down. He then pulled out a new tablet equipped with all of my favorite magazines and there was also a video already on it. It was his proposal video. A montage of pictures of us was put together to a very sweet song. He was on his knee with the ring by the end of the video. It was definitely an emotional moment for the both of us and definitely one I'll never forget.

When is your wedding date?
October 2013 or April 2014.

Why did you pick Savannah to get married in?
We chose Savannah as our wedding location becasue it is a great meeting point for our family and friends that will be traveling in from all over the country and even Norway. The southern, natural charm of Savannah is why we chose it at all. We wanted something different and also in a city that had a lot to offer for visitors.

Where do you currently reside?
Stig and I currently reside in Marianna, Florida but only spend usually less than half of the month there. We are both based at JFK and spend a lot of our time working or staying at out apartment in New York.

Anything interesting you wish to share?
An interesting thing that we want to include in our reception is a Norwegian touch. What this touch will be is still under negotiation. He wants a flag present!
I must add that although we are through-the-roof excited about planning this wedding, we're most excited to be spending the rest of our lives together.

Wow Stig--way to set the bar high! Love the proposal story. We are excited to plan with you and cannot wait for the big day!

Future Savannah Wedding: Sara Anne + Anthony

Sara Anne Workman and Anthony Meyer

Date Engaged
November 30, 2012

Where did you meet?
We grew up in the same town and had our first class together in 4th grade, but we didn't become friends until we were adults.

How did he propose?
Anthony and I love walking downtown Savannah, going to all of the candy stores and grabbing samples at each one. One evening he insisted on going to get pralines. We went to two stores and he was being especially sweet letting me get whatever sweet treats I wanted.  After River Street Sweets, we walked a around some more and sat on a bench overlooking the river and shared our treats, talking, and enjoying the surprisingly quiet Friday night downtown.  Before I knew it, he unzipped his jacket pocket and got down on one knee in front of the bench and asked me to marry him.

When is your wedding date?
December 28, 2013

Why did you pick the area you are getting married in?
We have made a home for ourselves in Savannah, loved the GA State Roundhouse Railroad Museum and its antique touch.

Where do you reside now?
Sara Anne: Savannah and Anthony: Statesboro but will move to Savannah after our wedding.

Anything else you would like to add?
We began our relationship toward the end of Anthony's time as an active duty Marine, so I have only seen pictures of him in his dress blues, so we both are very excited to see each other for the first time on our wedding day - it will be a very special moment.

Yeah we are so excited for you two!

Future Savannah Wedding: Stacey + Gregory

Stacey + Gregory

Date Engaged
April 27, 2012

Where did you meet?
We met through a mutual friend while going out with friends to The Vortex in Atlanta, a well-known restaurant with good beers and great burgers!  The first encounter between this New Jersey guy and Alabama girl might have started off “rocky” with some witty banter over drinks, but it wasn't long before Greg realized how easy it was to talk to Stacey.  He says he fell in love with her that night.

How did he propose?
We were in New Jersey visiting Greg's family for a long weekend.  Whenever we visit New Jersey, we always make sure to spend at least one day in Manhattan and we always make time to take a romantic walk through Central Park.  It was a beautiful day on April 27th when we were walking through the park to one of our favorite spots, the Bethesda Fountain. As Stacey was enjoying the day and taking photos, Greg began telling her the reasons he loved her.  Stacey, of course, did not realize what was happening because this was not out of the ordinary.  Suddenly, Greg knelt down on one knee and asked Stacey "Will you marry me?"  She began to cry and kiss Greg uncontrollably, eventually saying "yes" to his question.

When is your wedding date?
March 22, 2014

Why did you pick the area you are getting married in?
We currently live in Atlanta, GA but chose Savannah because we both love the Southern charm and appeal of the city.  Several of our friends and family will have to travel anyways, so we thought, “Why not give them somewhere beautiful, fun and charming to enjoy?!”

Anything interesting or out of the ordinary you are including in your wedding day?
We are fairly early in the planning process and don’t have all the details down yet; however, we chose the Polish-named Pulaski square for the ceremony because Gregory is Polish and will definitely mean a lot to his parents, family and us.  (Doesn’t hurt that it’s gorgeous also.)

We are so excited to get to share in this process with you. We know it is going to be nothing short of amazing!

Future Savannah Wedding: Andrea + Scott

Andrea O'Bryan + Scott Nelson

Date Engaged
10/17/2012

Where did you meet?
Scott lives in the same neighborhood as my parents.  My Mom spends a lot of time walking in the neighborhood and chatted with Scott when she saw him outside.  She kept telling me that she knew "the perfect guy" for me and of course that brought on an eye roll and a "suuuuure Mom" followed by a NO!  Fast forward several months and Scott's neighbor and my Mom cooked up a plan to have us meet at their neighborhood Christmas party.  I gave in and decided to give it a shot and went to the party.  Scott was over an hour late for the party and I was about to leave when he finally arrived.  My first thought was WOW!  He was so handsome and had such a warm smile.  We spent the evening chatting and made plans to meet for brunch the following weekend.  Our first date was brunch at the Secret Garden in Jacksonville and we've been inseparable ever since.  I guess Mom was right!

How did he propose?
Our favorite city is Savannah and we visit as often as we can.  We always have dinner at The Olde Pink House in the cozy downstairs tavern.  On this particular night we were able to have dinner in the vault.  The wonderful soloist, Sidra, came by at one point and sang "When I Fall in Love" to us--such a special moment!  We enjoyed a delicious dinner and ordered dessert.  They brought our dessert but also had a plate with "Will you marry me" written in chocolate!  The pianist that evening was playing the wedding march as they brought the plate and Scott got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.  It was such a wonderful night!  We cried happy tears, laughed and  ended the evening with a slow dance to a Frank Sinatra song while everyone in the tavern cheered and wished us well.

When is your wedding date?
10/28/13

Why did you pick the area you are getting married in?
Savannah is very dear to us and we want to share our love of the city with our family and friends.  We are so excited to be getting married in one of Savannah's beautiful squares and to have our reception at The Olde Pink House!  Our wedding is going to be a laid back weekend spent enjoying our favorite things about Savannah with family and friends.  What better way to start our married life than in our favorite city, surrounded by our favorite people?

Where do you reside now?
We live in the beaches area of Jacksonville, Florida.

Anything interesting or out of the ordinary you are including in your wedding day?
We are planning to take our guests on a walking historical/ghost tour after the reception!

Anything else you would like to add?
We recently lost our 12 1/2 year old chocolate lab, Shelby.  She was very special to me and I always said the man I married would have to love her like I do.  Scott and Shelby got off to a rough start when she practically destroyed his newly remodeled bathroom!  After that small bump in the road, Scott wholeheartedly accepted her and really did love her like I did.  Shelby had a special pearl collar that she wore on her birthday every year and I will be carrying it down the aisle with me.

LOVE that you were engaged at the Olde Pink House! Adorable story....We cannot wait for October 28th you two.

Future Savannah Wedding: Suzanne + Brad

Suzanne Biddy and Brad Howard

Date Engaged
December 22, 2012
(A date even the Mayans didn't predict-get it?? Haha! I'm sorry-I'm a sucker for a horrible joke.)

Where did you meet?
We initially met while in college at Grub's, a local place in Fayetteville, AR circa 2001. We were acquaintances for a while before we "officially" met. In January of 2010, I saw him at the Fountain-a local place in Little Rock, AR. He saw me and came up to say "hello". And instead of a normal "hi, how are you," I gave him a kiss right smack dab on the lips. Don't get me wrong-I don't typically kiss everyone I see-but I'm super happy I did. I remember he looked totally shocked at first. But then he smiled and I had never seen a more familiar smile in all my life. Does that make sense? That's why I say that was when we "officially" met.

How did he propose?
Brad brings me coffee every morning. So instead of coffee in my cup on December 22nd- it was a ring. He got down on one knee and asked. I replied; "That's all you got?" Then he professed his love. And I said "Yeah!" We wrote on the coffee cup with a marker later with the details. It was perfect. Perfect.

When is your wedding date?
June 7, 2013

Why did you pick the area you are getting married in?
My family is from Georgia. And I have always loved Savannah. It's everything I love. A big, small southern town. Historic, exciting, easy-going, green, fun, beautiful, new, southern, creative, etc. You can do nothing there and have a perfect time. Brad and I took a trip to Savannah in December of 2011 and he fell in love as well.  I want all of our friends and family that haven't experienced it to have a chance to-its just a perfect place for us to get married.

Where do you reside now?
Little Rock, AR

We love your humor Suzanne! AND Brad--every morning?!? Wow you are surely a catch! Congrats you two, we are honored to get to share in your big day in June!

Future Savannah Wedding: Auburn and Jake

Auburn Wiggins and Jake Salley

Date Engaged- July 29, 2012

Where did you meet?
Jake and I "officially" met in Houston Hobby airport when he accompanied my sorority sister and her boyfriend at the time, who is aslo Jake's best friend and best man, to pick me up.  My friend had just transfered from Auburn University to Texas A&M.  I flew in to visit her in College Station for the weekend.  Initially I was disappointed to see she had brought Jake with her to the airport.  I had reluctantly spoken to him a few times on the phone my sophomore year when my friend would pass the phone over to me having to attend to her duties at the front desk of our sorority dorm.  He seemed odd to me during those quick long distance conversations.  However, Jake and I bonded in the backseat on the drive to College Station that night.  Our humor was very similar and I was immediately attracted to him.  We all went out that evening and had a very good time, unfortunately, Jake had to go back to his hometown of Dallas over the weekend for a family dinner.  I was very disappointed that I would not see him again before I left.   It was Saturday and I was missing my new friend that I thought I would never see again.  That evening the three of us went to dinner without Jake.  When we drove up to their duplex I was elated to see Jake's white Ford F-150!  He had come back early!!!  Almost as soon as I got back to Auburn he had planned his trip to visit me a month later in Auburn.  That initial meeting was September 18, 2003 and we have been in each other's site ever since!!!

How did he propose?
Jake proposed the morning of July 29.  It was a Sunday and Jake woke me up to tell me he had made breakfast.  I opened the door to my bedroom and immediately noticed the rose petals leading down the stairway.  I followed the petals downstairs with Jake by my side.  When we got to the living room I saw a beautiful bouquet of flowers and then the scrabble board set up on the coffee table.  He instructed me to sit down and look at the game board.  In scrabble tiles Jake had spelled out...AUBURN WILL YOU MARRY ME LOVE JAKE...once I put the letters together i noticed Jake down on one knee with the most amazing ring in his hands!!!  I said yes and we popped a bottle of champagne, made mimosas, and at captain crunch french toast!  It was perfect!!

When is your wedding date?
 April 13, 2013

Why did you pick the area you are getting married in?
We are getting married at the GA State Railroad Museum/aka Roundhouse Museum, in the Historic district of Savannah.  My dad's family is from Savannah I have always loved  the city and dreamed of marrying here.  I finally brought Jake to Savannah in 2006 for St. Patrick's Day and he fell in love with the city as well.  I loved the Roundhouse Museum because of the rustic atmosphere.  I like the juxtaposition of exposed brick and soft, delicate lace...I feel its a nice representation of me and Jake.

Where do you reside now?
Jake and I live in Dallas, Texas.

Anything interesting or out of the ordinary you are including in your
wedding day?
We are going to include Scrabble tiles in our wedding day because those little pieces of wood have played a big role in our relationship.  Jake asked me to be his "official" girlfriend over a Scrabble game during a family beach trip, and then Jake proposed with those letters.  I will also be carrying a brooch bouquet composed of many of my grandmother's brooches and the other brooches will represent everyone who is special to me.  I have asked all my dear friends and family to choose a brooch to add to the collection.

We are beyond excited you two! The plans are coming together perfectly and we couldn't be more in love with the details and you both! LOVE how Jake proposed...you are just amazing! :)

Future Savannah Wedding: Destinee and Eric

Destinee Disher and Eric Swanson

Date Engaged
September 9, 2012

Where did you meet?
We met the Fall of 2004 at the University of Florida, in Chemistry Lab 101. We were little eighteen year old freshman who just thought each other were really cute. We dated briefly but it soon ended as he thought I was too serious for him (little did he know haha). We remained friends throughout college and the in the Fall of 2006, Eric came to a fundraiser my honor society was hosting. He pulled me aside and said that he had come here for me, that he wanted to be with me, and would I give him another shot. A few months later, I gave him that second shot, and as they say, the rest is history.

How did he propose?

Eric and I love to travel, and I always try and plan a trip around his birthday. This year we had planned a trip to New Orleans. We had an amazing weekend thus far, and it was Sunday, and that means football. I dawned a teal dress with black accessories, and geared up to spend the day watching the Jaguars.  We were on our way to a restaurant to watch the game, and we walked through Jackson Square on the way. I was hot and sweaty, and in no mood to be taking breaks unless it was to get  a beer or sit in the shade for a minute.  He asked to sit down on a bench inside the square, and needless to say I was not excited about the unexpected stop. And then he said “Screw it, I was going to buy the ring next week, and I had all these great plans on how to propose, but I just don’t want to wait any longer.” He got down on one knee and asked if I would marry him. I told him I would have to think about it, because if you know me, of course I had to say that, and then of course, said YES! We later went to the French Market and bought a beautifully tacky $10 ring to commemorate the moment.

When is your wedding date?
October 26, 2013

Why did you pick the area you are getting married in?
We have always had really great memories of Savannah. We have spent some time here with friends for St. Patrick’s Day, and we spent a romantic weekend for Eric’s birthday a couple of years ago. Still one of my favorite memories is being at a romantic dinner at the Old Pink House and Eric setting the bread basket on fire from the candle on the table. Our waiter had to rush to throw the basket outside the front door before we burnt down the place.

We have always loved the romantic, historic feel, and the fact that you can walk everywhere (and open container law is nice as well). We knew we wanted a destination wedding, and we have a lot of friends and family in Atlanta, as well as Jacksonville, FL, and wanted to find a middle ground. Savannah was perfect, and knowing we loved the city already, sealed the deal for us.

Where do you reside now?
Atlanta, GA

Anything interesting or out of the ordinary you are including in your wedding day?
We are really trying to make it a fun weekend to spend with all of our closest friends and family. And really trying to make it very personal.

It isn’t quite the wedding day, but my favorite holiday is Halloween. I’ve always loved coming up with great creative costumes and Eric’s sweet enough to go along for the ride. We have been Dog the Bounty Hunter and his wife Beth, we have been an Amish couple, we were Border Patrol and a Mexican, etc. Because of my love for the holiday, and the date of our wedding, we will be having a Halloween party with all of our wedding guests for the rehearsal dinner. Think zombie bridal party, and the most hideous wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses I could find.

On the actual wedding day, the reception site actually shoots a live cannon after the ceremony. I will also have one of my best friends, Josh, be a “brides-man”, and Eric’s sister will actually be one of his “grooms-woman”, and they will both stand of the opposite side of where one may expect. We are also trying to come up with different activities to do at the reception and since we love games, we have come up with life-size jenga, cornhole, etc. One more thing is Eric’s Dad is actually being ordained so that he can perform our ceremony.  A lot of the interesting things we are doing we are trying to keep a secret for our wedding guests :)

We just adore you two and all the fun plans in place thus far. We cannot wait to see what the rest of the planning will bring and more importantly, getting to share in the most important day in your lives.

Future Savannah Wedding: Robyn and Colin

    Colin & Robyn

    Date Engaged
    October 8, 2011

    Where did you meet?
Capstone Dorm at University of South Carolina, freshman year (he lived on the fourth floor, she lived on the second)

    How did he propose?
We went up to Colin's family's cottage on Cape Cod for our annual fall trip. On October 8, it was a beautiful day. In fact, too beautiful: it was 80 degrees and the beach was FULL of people when we usually had the whole place to ourselves. So we went for a walk. A long, long walk, until we found a spot away from everyone else.

Colin got down on one knee in the sand and asked, "Will you–

"Now?! Are you sure you want to do this right now?!!" Robyn tried to cut him off. She was wearing sweatpants, her hair was two days unwashed, and she had on sunglasses. This was no time for an Important Life Moment.

"Really?!" Colin was incredulous. "Eight years of dating, and I get 'Are you sure you want to do this right now?'"

    "Sorry. Start over!"

"Okay. Robyn, will you take my hand in marriage?"

"Don't you mean can you take my hand in marriage?"

"Are you going to let me do this or not?"

"Okay okay okay. Wait, did I say yes? Yes!" And then Robyn cried.

    When is your wedding date?
October 6, 2012 at Old Fort Jackson (almost exactly one year after getting engaged)

Why did you pick the area you are getting married in?
Robyn is from NC and Colin from NJ, and we currently live in Hoboken, NJ.  We decided to find a "neutral territory" for our wedding and wanted someplace special that we could return to for visits again and again. We had been to Savannah only once before, and when we came back to scope it out, we knew it was for us. The food alone is worth the trip!

    Where do you reside now?
    Hoboken, NJ

Anything interesting or out of the ordinary you are including in your wedding day?
Does getting married at a fort and getting to shoot off the cannon count?  :)

Anything else you would like to add?
The photo attached was taken by our friend Tamara Campbell, co-owner of the Toronto-based photography studio Whim + Whistle

AAHHHH we are so excited to be back at Fort Jackson and with these two! Here is to a lifetime of love and happiness and we cannot wait that we get to see it all begin!

Future Savannah Wedding: Debra and Herschel

    Debra Hodges and Herschel Scott

    Date Engaged
    November 10, 2011

    Where did you meet?
    We met through mutual friends.

    How did he propose?
He actually proposed on his birthday. We went to dinner to celebrate and after dinner we walked downtown. The night was young but I thought we were just going home to relax. But when we got home, without me knowing anything he had someone set up a fire in the fire pit in the back yard. The setting couldn't have been any more perfect--the moon was full, there were candles everywhere, music was playing, the wine was chilling with two wine glasses on patio with my favorite appetizers. I thought "Wow, this is a great way to celebrate his birthday." The night was young so we danced under the full moon, talked, laughed, he open wine and we toasted to his birthday. He told me he had to go in the house for a minute and he would be right back. I sat under the full moon sipping my wine and listening to the music. He came out walked up to my chair and knelt down in front of me, but I STILL did not realize what was about to take place. I thought he just wanted a kiss. (ha ha) He took my hand and began to tell me all the things he loved about me. I began to cry, still unaware of what was going on, he pulled out a box opened it and said "These are the reasons why you should be wearing this." He put they ring on my finger and kissed me. He never actually spoke the words "Will you marry me?" but honestly, no words were needed........we just got up and danced under the full moon.

    When is your wedding date?
    November 10, 2012
One year to the date that we got engaged on his birthday. I ask him later that night why he gave me a present on his birthday and he said, " I wanted to give it to you when you least expected it and anyway you are the greatest gift I have ever received."

Why did you pick the area you are getting married in?

We picked Savannah for its Southern Style and History. We wanted a southern wedding and what better place than Savannah........

Why did you pick the area you are getting married in?
We felt it captured all the charm, beauty, and history we had imagined for our big day and would be the perfect backdrop for our military wedding. Plus the weather is guaranteed to be much better than in Chicago where I'm from!

    Where do you reside now?
    Savannah

Anything interesting or out of the ordinary you are including in yourwedding day?
We are having a military wedding and also incorporating aspects honoring my deceased mother throughout the entire wedding in the form of pink colors (for breast cancer that she passed from) and I'm wearing my mother's wedding dress (altered) as an exit dress.

We cannot wait for the big day Melissa and Nicholas. Thank you so much for your dedication and service to our country. It is an honor to be  part of this with you both!

    Date Engaged

    Where did you meet?
Oklahoma State University. We are both doctoral graduate students in the same area of study. We were assigned to share an office.
    How did he propose?
He took me to the restaurant we went to on our first date. After dinner, he gave me the sweetest card. When I looked up from the card, he presented me the ring. All I could do was smile and nod my head "yes".

    When is your wedding date?
    May 12, 2012

Why did you pick the area you are getting married in?
I'm from Georgia and he is from Chicago. My rural hometown of Lincolnton does not have much to offer for out-of-town guests such as lodging, restaurants, transportation,  and activities. The Savannah/Tybee Island location provides an ideal location with the convenient amenities for the guests while keeping the Southern charm that is reflective of where I was raised.

    Where do you reside now?
    Stillwater, Oklahoma
Anything interesting or out of the ordinary you are including in your wedding day?
My brother is going to be my "Man of Honor". It took a lot of coaxing, but he finally agreed.  We have always been close so I am excited to have him standing next to me on my wedding day.
We cannot wait for the big day! Here is to only a few more weeks…
