One question not previously included is which kind of ring-bearer will bring the maximum possible amount of cuteness to your ceremony – dog or child? It’s so tormenting that it required its own post.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">In the battle of dog versus child to get that ring down the aisle, we suggest that you make your decision based on the following criteria: dressability, training, and liability.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; text-align: center;"><a data-mce-href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Ringbearers.jpg" href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Ringbearers.jpg"><img alt="Ringbearers" class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2984" data-mce-src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Ringbearers-600x400.jpg" height="400" src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Ringbearers-600x400.jpg" style="border: 0px; cursor: default; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="600" /></a></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"><b>Dressability. </b>Regardless of whether or not that’s actually a word, this examines how well the ring-bearer (dog or child alike) is able to stand wearing clothes for a least an hour and a half – assuming you wrestle them into their garments right before sending them down the aisle and removing them quickly after the ceremony. Both toddlers and dogs are notorious for using literally any method possible for clothing removable. However, given that most children and dogs look pretty adorable in a tiny jacket, bowtie, or dress, this can make the decision complicated. If you need assistance, Google pictures of both until you have reached a conclusion.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"><b>Training.</b> Small garden ceremony or huge Catholic mass, it makes no difference - you are sending a small creature into a room full of what looks to it like towering monsters with nothing but a small pillow and expecting it to walk a straight line, fairly quickly, while everyone stares at it. Throw in factors such as any funny hats your older relatives or hats might wear, the presence of any visible candy or treat, and amount of practice. Never taught Spot how to come, sit, or stay? Chances are he didn’t teach himself before the big day, and that path to the altar might be a long and winding one. If your four-year-old only got half his normal naptime that day, you can probably anticipate a mid-aisle sitdown/temper tantrum combination.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"><b>Liability.</b> Let’s just put it out there – both a child and a dog can potentially eat the ring, and both can bite people trying to take the ring away from them. Both can stop and use the bathroom in the middle of the ceremony with zero qualms about it, both can get scared or intimidated by large rooms full of people, and both have no idea HOW MUCH MONEY THAT THING COST YOU. We can tell you right now that the risk is just as high with either choice. </div>The Savannah Wedding Plannerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15186861043708932160noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5646973925763089115.post-68031979211885746002014-02-13T15:00:00.000-05:002014-02-13T15:00:02.798-05:00Pre-Wedding Puzzles<div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">During the planning process, there are several choices that every bride faces, and these are probably choices that your fiancé does not want to spend one more second debating with you. Here are some of the most common queries:</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"><b>How many bridesmaids should I have?</b></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">You should have as many bridesmaids as you want, but remember to consider how easy or difficult your friends are to manage in large numbers. If your fiancé has a sister, then you should probably include her, seeing as you probably want your brother to be a groomsman. It’s only fair. When it comes to picking sorority sisters, you might want to limit yourself to asking your “big” and your “little” – you can’t fit your whole pledge class on the altar.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; text-align: center;"><a data-mce-href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/common.jpg" href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/common.jpg"><img alt="common" class="aligncenter wp-image-2979" data-mce-src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/common-600x399.jpg" height="279" src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/common-600x399.jpg" style="border: 0px; cursor: default; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="420" /></a> </div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"><b>How long should I be engaged?</b></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">In terms of planning, the more time you have between your engagement and your wedding date, the easier it is. Also consider the size and extravagance of your wedding – the smaller and simpler, the less time you need. It also works to be engaged just as long as it takes you to fly to Vegas. You cannot get engaged in December, plan a 200-guest destination wedding for February, and expect to be completely satisfied with the result.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"><b>Should I wear flats or heels under my dress?</b></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">Now that embellished ballet flats are becoming more standard for brides, you do have a comfier option than heels. Consider what kind of terrain you will be walking on – if you will mostly be going from flat floors to concrete to church steps, heels are fine. If there are cobblestones or grass involved, you might want to have a pair of flats on hand. You can always wear flats to the ceremony and throw on those gorgeous blue Manolos for the reception.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; text-align: center;"> <a data-mce-href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/common1.jpg" href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/common1.jpg"><img alt="common1" class="aligncenter wp-image-2980" data-mce-src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/common1.jpg" height="283" src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/common1.jpg" style="border: 0px; cursor: default; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="189" /></a></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"><b>Should I switch to a short dress later in the night?</b></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">Ask yourself if you will eventually get hot and sweaty at the reception in the dress you’ve picked, and if you really want to go through the trouble of taking off your clothes after the ceremony and getting dressed all over again. If you are lazy like me, the answer is always “I’ll just wear what I have on.” </div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"><b>Other things you should know:</b></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">Chicken is a less risky menu choice than fish.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">Birds will eat the rice you throw (see previous blog post).</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">If one cousin is allowed to bring her five-year-old twins, all of your cousins will find out and bring theirs, too.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"><br /></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"><br /></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"><br /></div>The Savannah Wedding Plannerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15186861043708932160noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5646973925763089115.post-39209048916032332732014-02-05T15:00:00.000-05:002014-02-05T15:00:01.017-05:00Cut the Starch<div align="center" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"><i>Alternatives to Chucking Rice</i></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"> If you’re a traditionalist, then getting pelted with rice at your wedding sounds amazing. For everyone else, rice at your wedding instantly brings to mind images of those poor pigeons we heard were exploding after they ate it off the ground. Regardless of whether there’s any logic behind these supposed bird-splosions, here are some fun alternatives.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"><b>Blowing bubbles.</b> Any children at your wedding will automatically be distracted for as long as that small bottle of bubble juice lasts, and you also don’t have to worry about catching some long-grain white rice to the eyeball.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"><b>Birdseed. </b>You may now rest easy about the birds. They are going to be OKAY, and you are even feeding them. This is also a “greener” approach – there’s no cleanup necessary afterwards.</div><div data-mce-style="text-align: center;" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; text-align: center;"><a data-mce-href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/birdseed.jpg" href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/birdseed.jpg"><img alt="birdseed" class="aligncenter wp-image-2963" data-mce-src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/birdseed.jpg" height="662" src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/birdseed.jpg" style="border: 0px; cursor: default; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="442" /></a></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"><b>Sparklers. </b>At this point you will ask, aren’t those meant for people to wave in my face as I leave for my honeymoon? And I will tell you this: sparklers are always appropriate and you can use them however you want. Think outside the box a little.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"><b>Flower petals. </b>A very elegant and feminine alternative, albeit a tad more expensive if you’re buying a lot of them. However, if they’re real, you don’t have to worry about going back and picking up every synthetic petal that was tossed, so it’s maintenance level is in line with the birdseed.</div><div data-mce-style="text-align: center;" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; text-align: center;"> <a data-mce-href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/petals.jpg" href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/petals.jpg"><img alt="petals" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2964" data-mce-src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/petals.jpg" height="399" src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/petals.jpg" style="border: 0px; cursor: default; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="600" /></a></div>The Savannah Wedding Plannerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15186861043708932160noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5646973925763089115.post-83542163547901689052014-02-04T16:46:00.002-05:002014-02-04T16:46:54.863-05:00Bliss Bash, January 30th<div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">Beautiful designer dresses, delicious hors d'oeuvre, and custom made accessories, that was just the start of our night at the "Bliss Bash" last Thursday, at Bleubelle Bridal Boutique. Savannah Magazine invited the MGE team along with a few of our brides, to their cocktail party to showcase Cheryl King, a couture accessories designer, and Emily McCarthy, a lifestyle designer.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">Cheryl King handcrafts custom pieces for brides such as, veils, jewelry and belts that are sold by leading bridal salons around the world. She has a vast collection of pieces that brides are welcome to customize. The most popular are her headpieces, intricately detailed headbands and clips that are worn in various ways and adorned with jewels - a more glamorous take on last season's Tikka-Inspired headpieces from our last style post. Any bride can easily find a Cheryl King Couture piece that would go perfectly with her dress from Bleubelle Bridal. The best icing is the kind that sparkles.</div><div class="mceTemp mceIEcenter" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; text-align: center;"> <dl class="wp-caption aligncenter" data-mce-style="width: 604px;" id="attachment_2967" style="background-color: #f3f3f3; border-bottom-left-radius: 3px; border-bottom-right-radius: 3px; border-top-left-radius: 3px; border-top-right-radius: 3px; border: 1px solid rgb(221, 221, 221); margin: 10px auto; padding-top: 4px; width: 604px;"><dt class="wp-caption-dt"><a data-mce-href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/CherylKing.jpg" href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/CherylKing.jpg"><img alt="Clockwise from left: delicious desserts; Jordan Rankin of MGE modeling a Cheryl King creation; a beautiful Jenny Packham; more couture designs by Cheryl King." class=" wp-image-2967 " data-mce-src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/CherylKing.jpg" height="480" src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/CherylKing.jpg" style="-webkit-user-drag: none; border: 0px none; cursor: default; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" width="594" /></a></dt><dd class="wp-caption-dd" style="font-size: 11px; line-height: 1.5; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 4px 5px;">Clockwise from left: delicious desserts; Jordan Rankin of MGE modeling a Cheryl King creation; a beautiful Jenny Packham; more couture designs by Cheryl King.</dd></dl></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">Brides and guests at the event had the privilege to get a peak at Emma J's new wedding collection from Emily McCarthy Collections. The Indian-inspired head jewelry has comes in several variations, though all are exotic, luxurious, and bohemian.</div><div data-mce-style="text-align: center;" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; text-align: center;"><a data-mce-href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/TikkaHeadpiece.jpg" href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/TikkaHeadpiece.jpg"><img alt="TikkaHeadpiece" class="alignleft size-full wp-image-2958" data-mce-src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/TikkaHeadpiece.jpg" height="612" src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/TikkaHeadpiece.jpg" style="border: 0px; cursor: default; float: left;" width="658" /></a></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"><br /></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">Standard headpieces consist of three chains, with accents of gems or charms, that rest on the head. You can virtually build your own car, there are about 1.7 million DIY tricks for everything you could possible imagine, and we are constantly saying things like “skim, iced, no onions, extra cheese,” etc. So if you can be this picky with driving, decorating, and eating, you should also be able to <i>customize</i> another human <i>custom</i> – marriage.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">When you hire a coordinator, more likely that not, they’re going to be with you throughout the year leading up to the wedding. At the very least, they’ll be touching base with you until it’s time for them to plan the day, and at the most, they will basically be your best friend/fairy god-planner that goes <i>poof</i> and finds you the awesome baker, best venue, and insanely cool décor. Unfortunately, many planners only provide these two options on either end of the planning spectrum, with nothing in between.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">A healthy portion of customizable packages should be provided by your coordinator when cooking up your big day (I don’t know how I got into these metaphors but let’s roll with it). Choices are a regular part of a stress-free bride’s wedding diet and if the planner you’re working with can’t provide you with any wiggle room, you’ll feel like a big stuffed sausage throughout the whole process. If you can assertively tell that barista at Starbucks that she LEFT OUT YOUR EXTRA ESPRESSO and you specifically said NO WHIPPED CREAM, then you can stand up for making your day (and the planning process) exactly what you want it to be – no more, no less.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">So on that note, head on over to <a data-mce-href="http://morgangalloevents.com/services/" href="http://morgangalloevents.com/services/">http://morgangalloevents.com/services/</a> to check out our vast planning “menu.”</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">Nailed the food metaphors.</div>The Savannah Wedding Plannerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15186861043708932160noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5646973925763089115.post-3112463685368526922014-01-23T15:00:00.000-05:002014-01-23T15:00:03.130-05:00Diverse Details<div data-mce-style="text-align: center;" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; text-align: center;"><em>Bridal Showers & Rehearsal Dinners</em></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"> While working a small dinner party in L.A. last summer, I discovered a small but cool detail - stainless steel and glass straws.</div><div data-mce-style="text-align: center;" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; text-align: center;"><a data-mce-href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/straws2.jpg" href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/straws2.jpg"><img alt="straws2" class="size-full wp-image-2944 aligncenter" data-mce-src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/straws2.jpg" height="532" src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/straws2.jpg" style="border: 0px; cursor: default; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="400" /></a></div><div data-mce-style="text-align: center; padding-left: 30px;" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; padding-left: 30px; text-align: center;"><a data-mce-href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/straws11.jpg" href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/straws11.jpg"><img alt="straws1" class="wp-image-2947 aligncenter" data-mce-src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/straws11.jpg" height="378" src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/straws11.jpg" style="border: 0px; cursor: default; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="252" /></a></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">We’ve gotten on the trend of the colorful “paper” straws, but they tend not to last that long in our drinks. You've recently been hearing from me, Jordan Rankin. I'm the executive assistant here at MGE and I wanted to say helloooo to everyone and let you get to know me. I love a good pair of boots, a good bourbon drink, and anything that makes me laugh. Let’s review them:</div><div data-mce-style="padding-left: 30px;" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; padding-left: 30px;"> A) Your fussiest relatives probably won’t come. As we all know, difficult aunts and grumpy uncles live to complain about the weather, so if you haven’t sent them a Christmas card in a few years and then you set your date for July or January, you have just saved yourself a whole lot of stress.</div><div data-mce-style="padding-left: 30px;" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; padding-left: 30px;">B) You save money. Many vendors, like venues and planners, give discounts in the off-season because they need to fill the gaps in their business year. This is especially true for destination wedding locations (ahem, Savannah) that have big spikes of activity and then get quiet for a few months.</div><div data-mce-style="padding-left: 30px;" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; padding-left: 30px;">C) Your beach wedding can actually be warm enough at which to swim, and your winter wedding might end up being white – both of which are romantic.</div><div data-mce-style="padding-left: 30px;" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; padding-left: 30px;"><a data-mce-href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/beach.jpg" href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/beach.jpg"><img alt="beach" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2931" data-mce-src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/beach.jpg" height="300" src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/beach.jpg" style="border: 0px; cursor: default; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="199" /></a></div><div data-mce-style="padding-left: 30px;" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; padding-left: 30px;">D) Your dress can be seasonal – some might point fingers at a short dress in April but absolutely no one could blame you for it in June. Similarly, winter weddings encourage long-sleeved dresses or cute bolero jackets, which can cover up all the cookies and mashed potatoes that went straight to the back of everyone’s arms during the holidays.</div><div data-mce-style="padding-left: 30px;" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; padding-left: 30px;">E) Most of your friends should be able to come – their springs and falls will be packed with other couples’ nuptials and besides, summer and winter are both prime seasons for throwing parties.</div><div data-mce-style="text-align: center;" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; text-align: center;"><a data-mce-href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/party.jpg" href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/party.jpg"><img alt="party" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2932" data-mce-src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/party.jpg" height="199" src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/party.jpg" style="border: 0px; cursor: default; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="300" /></a></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"><br /></div>The Savannah Wedding Plannerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15186861043708932160noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5646973925763089115.post-69076332560405022342014-01-14T15:00:00.000-05:002014-01-14T15:00:02.073-05:00How to Put Some Edge on Your Big Day<div align="center" data-mce-style="text-align: center;" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; text-align: center;"><strong><em>Own It</em></strong></div><div align="center" data-mce-style="text-align: left;" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"><strong><em></em></strong>While your wedding day is one of the most significant and romantic occasions of your life, a personification of you and your fiancé’s love for one another, and the beginning to of your life together, it is also the biggest party you will ever throw.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">On average, most women have the chance to do this right only once (and by right, we mean well-funded and probably with the best body you will ever have). Lots of little girls dream about all the princessy details, but this post is for the girl with a wild hair, or two, or three. Your day is about you – and if you were ever more of a Scout Finch than a Scarlett O’Hara, this is no day to hide it. Put some edge on your big day – here’s some suggestions.</div><div data-mce-style="padding-left: 30px;" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; padding-left: 30px;">1. Mix up the hors d’oeuvres – if you have a penchant for sushi and Jack Daniels, bring it through at the cocktail hour. The warm climate is complimented by the amazing history – Savannah became the first official city in the state of Georgia in 1733 – and its gorgeous Spanish moss is also one of Savannah’s most distinctive and romantic traits.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">But besides these obvious reasons, here are five others that maybe you hadn’t considered:</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">1. You have two bodies of water to work with. TWO. You have the gorgeous Savannah River (yacht party, I’m on a boat, etc.) and some of the best surrounding islands in the lowcountry (beach wedding, yacht party, I’m on a boat).</div><div data-mce-style="text-align: center;" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; text-align: center;"> <a data-mce-href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Sav1.jpg" href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Sav1.jpg"><img alt="Sav1" class="aligncenter wp-image-2914" data-mce-src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Sav1.jpg" height="259" src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Sav1.jpg" style="border: 0px; cursor: default; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="346" /></a></div><div data-mce-style="text-align: left;" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">2. The food. You can’t throw a rock in Savannah without hitting ten Paula Deen prototypes (pre-racism scandal..), and there’s also a multitude of world-class ethnic restaurants for those who want an amazing menu minus all the butter.</div><div data-mce-style="text-align: center;" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; text-align: center;"><a data-mce-href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Sav2.jpg" href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Sav2.jpg"><img alt="Sav2" class="aligncenter wp-image-2915" data-mce-src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Sav2.jpg" height="346" src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Sav2.jpg" style="border: 0px; cursor: default; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="259" /></a></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"> 3. Cultural diversity. Yes, this is the Deep South, but Savannah is home to not only various kinds of Protestant churches but also Roman Catholic, Episcopal, and Jewish houses of worship. They also have these things called “outside,” “historic places,” “art galleries”, and “cool restaurants” for those who wish to have a nonreligious wedding.</div><div data-mce-style="text-align: center;" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; text-align: center;"><a data-mce-href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Sav3.jpg" href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Sav3.jpg"><img alt="Sav3" class="aligncenter wp-image-2916" data-mce-src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Sav3.jpg" height="295" src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Sav3.jpg" style="border: 0px; cursor: default; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="196" /></a></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">4. The bars are open until 3am, and you can drink out of plastic in the street. So tell your fiancé that he IS NOT going to Vegas for his bachelor party, and you can both go out pre-wedding and post-reception for a good time with your friends. Savannah also has pedicabs - so word to the wise, if you’re staying downtown for the night, skip the taxi and hop into a broke SCAD student’s rickshaw at the end of the night.</div><div data-mce-style="text-align: center;" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; text-align: center;"> <a data-mce-href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Sav4.jpg" href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Sav4.jpg"><img alt="Sav4" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2917" data-mce-src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Sav4.jpg" height="301" src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Sav4.jpg" style="border: 0px; cursor: default; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="324" /></a></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">5. Literary history. We all know that <i>Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil</i> by John Berendt took place here and the movie was filmed on location as well. It has also been the setting of <i>High Noon</i> by Nora Roberts, and, less admirably, <i>Southern Lights</i> by Danielle Steel. The best part is, unlike most places in South and North Carolina, no book by Nicholas Sparks has ever taken place here, for which we are all grateful.</div><div data-mce-style="text-align: center;" style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em; text-align: center;"><a data-mce-href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Sav5.jpg" href="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Sav5.jpg"><img alt="Sav5" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2918" data-mce-src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Sav5.jpg" height="301" src="http://morgangalloevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Sav5.jpg" style="border: 0px; cursor: default; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="323" /></a></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">All photos courtesy of <a data-mce-href="http://www.visitsavannah.com" href="http://www.visitsavannah.com/" target="_blank">VisitSavannah.com </a> and <a data-mce-href="https://www.facebook.com/VisitSavannahGA" href="https://www.facebook.com/VisitSavannahGA" target="_blank">https://www.facebook.com/VisitSavannahGA</a>.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;"><br /></div>The Savannah Wedding Plannerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15186861043708932160noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5646973925763089115.post-24014117996788756362014-01-09T15:00:00.000-05:002014-01-09T15:00:03.447-05:00Hidden Messages<div style="text-align: center;">Cutting Through the Noise on Your Big Day</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">Your wedding day is one of the most special days of your entire life – so special that you want to share it with everyone. Like, everyone. They’re coming to see you (and to eat and drink) and see you they will, from the first step down the aisle to the last step into the limo at the end of the night.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">Sharing the whole day with your soon-to-be husband and your family is an amazing experience. However, in most cases you really spend most of that day away from all of them, getting dressed with your bridesmaids, doing last minute checks and touchups, and remembering your grandma’s insistence that if your fiancé sees you before the ceremony, your marriage will be cursed forever.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">People have begun realizing this, and have started to appreciate the power of the subtle, hidden message to connect with love ones despite the rush and excitement of the big day. Not everything about your wedding has to be public or written on giant chalkboards like that brisket you’re serving.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.3em;">Exchanging love notes to read before the ceremony is intimate and timeless. We went our separate ways for college and got back in touch about 6 years later, and we've been together ever since. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #76a5af;">How did he propose? </span></div><div style="text-align: center;">Easter is my favorite holiday (it has something to do with dying eggs, hunting eggs in the yard, the pretty colors, candy and a bunch of little presents to open in our Easter baskets), and Ian knew this well. This Easter also happened to fall on my birthday, so we drove from our home in Orlando to visit with our parent's in Jacksonville, and decided to stay at his parent's house (usually both of our parents make us baskets for Easter, so we stay with one set and visit the other later in the day). The day before Easter he had the excuse to not join me and my friends for lunch because he had to go shopping for my birthday gift. Waiting until the last minute wasn't really a surprise considering how much we travel on the weekends and work during the week, so I didn't think anything of it. During lunch my best friend mentioned how funny it would be if Ian hid the ring in my Easter basket, as there was an ongoing joke about Ian waiting to propose until after I graduated with my Bachelor's, which was a few months prior. The following morning Ian woke up around 8 or 9, which was usual for him, and he let me sleep in. Around 11 he woke me up and told me my Easter basket was waiting for me in the kitchen. I walked into the kitchen, where Ian's mom was waiting, and our baskets were sitting on the counter at the bar. I sat down and noticed that my "basket" was actually a pink bundt cake pan, which was amazing to me because I would actually use the pan! I assumed his mom picked it out, so I made a big deal about how thoughtful that was and how useful it would be. I started in the back of the pan and worked my way around to the front, shaking and opening each egg to see what's inside. The first one had chocolate, the next one was filled with jelly beans, the third had chocolate and so on. The last one didn't make a sound when I shook it and I looked at Ian's mom and jokingly said something along the lines of "What the heck. You gave me an empty egg?". I opened it and there sat the most perfect ring I had ever seen. I set it on the counter and looked at Ian and said "You're kidding, right? This isn't for real" and I started eating a piece of chocolate. Ian (who apparently had not touched his basket) turned to me, took my hands, and, as I'm told, said some really romantic things followed by "Will you marry me?". Once I saw the ring, I kind of blanked out on the rest of the proposal, so I don't remember exactly what he said or that I said yes! </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #76a5af;">When is your wedding date? </span></div><div style="text-align: center;">June 14, 2014 </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #76a5af;">Why did you pick the area you are getting married in? </span></div><div style="text-align: center;">Pretty soon into our relationship, we jokingly/not jokingly said we were going to get married in Vegas at one of those drive-thru churches, since I'm not a girly-girl and I never wanted a big wedding. The first time we visited Savannah, which was in March of 2011, we fell in love with the city! It quickly became the place we wanted to get married, at Ian's suggestion, and our tiny Vegas wedding has grown to become a full fledged southern wedding. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #76a5af;">Where do you reside now? </span></div><div style="text-align: center;">We live outside of Orlando, FL, but travel to see our families in Jacksonville, FL and Hilton Head, SC often. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #76a5af;">Anything interesting or out of the ordinary you are including in your wedding day? </span></div><div style="text-align: center;">We are having our favorite BBQ place, Wiley's Championship BBQ, cater the wedding, having lawn games for our guests to play during cocktail hour, and having a few famous Savannah trolleys take our guest down to River Street after the reception for an after party. Anything else you would like to add? text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-A6Wg3osTydE/UoKTwFSREzI/AAAAAAAASMs/nZTVM0MmDQE/s1600/lusan.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-A6Wg3osTydE/UoKTwFSREzI/AAAAAAAASMs/nZTVM0MmDQE/s640/lusan.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> </div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><em>this gown by </em><a href="http://www.lmlusanmandongus.com/collections.html" target="_blank"><em>lusan mandongus</em></a><em> reminded me so much of something that jacqueline kennedy or grace kelly would have worn - its stately, classic silhouette is flattering without being over-the-top. you can just barely see the back in the mirror, but it's a low-cut ordeal that i just loved!</em></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"></span> </div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">my second {and final, as it happens} stop was at <a href="http://thesentimentalistatl.com/" target="_blank">the sentimentalist</a> in atlanta. i found this fabulous little boutique while searching for sarah seven {my dream designer, or so i thought;)} stockists, and when i saw <a href="http://thesentimentalistatl.com/" target="_blank">their website</a> i just knew i had found my wedding gown shop soulmate! </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"></span> </div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">the best thing about shopping at the sentimentalist was the fact that their taste in gowns - feminine, classic, romantic - so perfectly meshed with my own that i was confident i needn't continue my search anywhere else. choosing from their short list of curated gowns was a relief, actually; they had already done the hard work of sorting through the myriad options on the market today and presented me with only the prettiest, most tasteful options. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"></span> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"></span> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">{} <strong>make an appointment</strong> at a smaller, locally-owned boutique that you know will give you personalized attention. preferably, find a boutique whose owner's style meshes perfectly with your own.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"></span> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">{} <strong>don't overwhelm yourself with choices</strong>. consider a few key factors, like the time of day you're having your ceremony, budget, the location, etc. and choose a dress that fits your vision {or, if you're open to building your vision around your dress, feel free to do that too!}. visit two to three shops with that vision in mind, see what options each has, and then just make your decision. there will always be more </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">{} <strong>shop early</strong>. to avoid rush fees, purchase your gown at least six {though preferably eight} months prior to your wedding date. at just over six months out, i was actually cutting it very close with mine - it should be shipped by the end of march, which will give me a little over a month to get it tailored before my wedding at the end of may. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"></span> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">{} <strong>budget</strong>. don't try on a $10,000 gown if you are not able or willing to spend that much money on your wedding dress. straight up don't even look at gowns outside of your budget because you will just end up making yourself sad. trust me on this, y'all. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; On June 4, </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">2011</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">, B</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">obby and I met up at Rita's Roadhouse in Downers Grove, IL. It was</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">a night we will never </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">forget :)</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span></pre><pre style="background-color: white; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></pre><pre style="background-color: white; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span style="color: #76a5af;">How did he propose?</span></span></pre><pre style="background-color: white; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> B</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">obby's side of the story:</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> I</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">t was the day after finals had ended and I had planned a special</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">night out to celebrate the semester being over. At least that is what I </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">had told her that week. I had planned the </span></pre><pre style="background-color: white; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">proposal for a few months and</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">went over several options. Finally I decided I would propose at the</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span></pre><pre style="background-color: white; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">restaurant where we had our very first date. I planned where I would do</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">it, what I would say, and even how to get someone to take a picture of</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">that special moment without her knowing that it was coming. When the</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">moment came I got down on my knee and completely forgot what I was going</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">to say. At that same moment I looked down at the ring box and saw that</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">the ring had fallen into the lid of the box. </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I picked it up as quickly</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">as possible and put it back in place. Then I just remember looking up at</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">the </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">most beautiful girl in the world and asking, "Will you marry me?"</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">and she made me the happiest guy in the world when she said, "yes!"</span></pre><pre style="background-color: white; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></pre><pre style="background-color: white; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Megan's side of the story:</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> W</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">e just had finished up our yummy mediterranean bread, when Bobby asked</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">our waiter if he could take a picture of us while we were waiting for</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">our pizza pot pies to be served. I </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">honestly didn't think anything of it,</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">because Bobby and I always take a picture when we are at </span></pre><pre style="background-color: white; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Oven Grinders</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">on the north side of Chicago. Oven Grinders was our "occasional</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">celebration" spot so I never thought anything of when he asked if I </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">would go to dinner that night to celebrate our finals week and fall</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">semester being over with. Bobby stood up, and came over to my end of</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">the booth where he </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">bent down to take our photo. After the photo was</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">taken, Bobby never left his "kneeling" position, and </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">turned away from me</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">as if he was hurt. In my mind, I was gathering that he had fallen and</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">he couldn't get up. I felt so horrible for him! How embarrassing, I </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">thought. I finally said to him after a few seconds of wondering if he</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">was okay, "Did you fall, Bobby? Are you okay? What's wrong?" Bobby looked</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">up at me at that moment, and gave me a huge smile, and pulled out a</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">little blue box from behind his back. He said with a stutter, "Will you</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">marry me?" I was so filled with excitement, I immediately looked</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">down at the box and noticed that the ring was missing, and started to</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> l</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">augh. Bobby looked at me to see what I was laughing at, and he said,</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> "O</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">h no!" Bobby panicked and saw that in the back of the box was the</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> "</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">missing ring". After he quickly placed the ring back in its place, he</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">smiled and asked again, "Will you marry me?" Ring or</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">not, I said yes!!!!!! Our waiter was so filled with </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">excitement, that he</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">was </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">snapping pictures on my iPhone the whole time. We decided to take a detour to savannah, as we both had</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">never been, but heard nothing but beautiful things about </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">it. When we</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">arrived it was love at first sight. The history, the buildings, the</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">people. Because we are </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">both beach bums, we decided to take a drive</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">towards Tybee, and see what our family and friends raved about when they</span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">would come home from spring break vacation.
