Amy Fleming and Sam Daniel
Engaged on March 28, 2009
Where did you meet?
We met through mutual friends after we both graduated from UGA. Sam lived and worked in Atlanta, and I was in graduate school in Athens.
How he proposed:
We were visiting St. Simon's Island, and Sam took me to an incredible dinner at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel. We both loved our food and had a great time! After dinner, Sam blindfolded me and took me to a small chapel on St. Simon's. I just love old, small chapels! When I opened my eyes in the chapel, there were candles lit, a rose, and a card. The card simply stated "1:16-17." A bible was laying in the front of the church with the chapter of Ruth marked. I assumed that I was supposed to read 1: 16-17 in Ruth, but I was shaking so much that I could barely read. I don't think I've ever stumbled over my words so much! I read the verse and realized what was about to happen. Sam proposed, and I said "yes!" It could not have been more perfect, and I was completely surprised!
Wedding Date:
May 22, 2010
Why did you pick the area you are getting married in?
We chose Savannah because we love the beautiful, historic elements of the city, and we couldn't think of a better city for our wedding. We wanted the guests at our wedding to enjoy all of the fun things that we enjoy about Savannah!
Where do you reside now?
Sam lives in Durham, NC right now, and he's an MBA student at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. I live in Atlanta and work as speech-language pathologist at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
We are so happy to be a part of your big day!
