This season’s hottest decor color is bright, cheery, and makes you feel happy...any ideas? It’s sunny...still no? Well, for fear of this little game getting old, I will tell you, it’s yellow! Yay! I swear I haven’t been drinking, it’s just such a versatile and lively color to add to a spring or summer wedding, heck I even love yellow in a Fall wedding, but let us stick to the season’s at hand. Here are a few of my favorite color combos and a few tips on how to use them for your big day.
Feeling Sassy: Mix Yellow and Purple. Now I prefer for this to be a rich golden yellow and a deep eggplant purple, paler shades of these colors can be beautiful, but you run the risk of having your wedding look like a 8 year old girls room. This color combo is one of my favorites! I love color blocking these colors...for example, have your girls wear a deep eggplant color and carry a rich golden yellow bouquet and vice-versa. What I also like about this and well, actually all of these color combos, is that white goes perfectly with the combinations with being distracting. Yay! Save money!!! The white plates, white chairs, you are able to go with what’s available.
Feeling Demure: Mix yellow and White. Now depending on how this is done, it can actually come across quite modern. So, I love it either way. This can be bright yellow or pale yellow, either way the statement is made. These colors are soft and elegant, personally I think that this is a more sunny way to do a mostly white wedding. The yellow really just adds a certain richness. There really can be a billion different ways to mix these two colors, just by playing with the tone. I think if you are going to go this direction that to make it really clean, try and not have any more contrasting colors. ALL white and yellow.
Feeling up for a Threesome: Ew,you perv, I mean three colors. Try Yellow, Grey, and Turquoise. This trio of colors is among my absolute favorite. Now I would have yellow and grey act as the main colors, like most of the pictures shown, but then just add a few pops of the turquoise. I think this is a way to doll it up a bit, give a bit of umph. If you notice in the picture with the grey and yellow, it looks kind of bland, I think that if they would have thrown a splash of turquoise it would lighten the mood a bit. Perhaps one of the plates? or maybe if the napkins were patterned turquoise and grey. Fabulous!!!
Slight variation instead of turquoise use a dark apple green. amazing. You want the color to be dark, no neons, but it still needs to be bright.
So those are just a few of my favorite color combos using yellow. Hope that’s helpful! If you have any questions or have another fabulous way to use yellow in your wedding, do tell!!!
Until we meet again, stay bridal and live life on the sunny side of the street.
Lauren
