Future Savannah Wedding: Mallory + John

  Mallory Smith and John Hubert

Date Engaged:
7/8/2010

Where did you meet?
John and I met on the first day of classes at GCSU when he spoke to me in the hallway. He sat behind me in our math class and we got to know one another during the semester. We remained friends throughout the following years and he eventually became my date to every sorority function I attended!!

 How did he propose?
John secretly took a trip to my hometown to ask for my father's permission the week before a family vacation to Helen, Georgia. After arriving at our cabin, he and my father looked for the perfect proposal spot. That evening, they led everyone down to a patio on the river for family pictures. During our shot, John got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him!!!! Because my dad was the only one who knew of the plans, he had a camera and took a million pictures. It was such a special and sweet moment and I'm so grateful that I got to share it with my family.

 When is your wedding date?
    12/31/2013

Why did you pick the area you are getting married in?
John is from Savannah and I am from Brunswick so we knew we wanted to get married on the coast. Our guests will be traveling from all over Georgia and Florida therefore we needed to find a city easily accessible by all. Savannah is so full of history and charm and is the perfect place for us to say "I do!"

Where do you reside now?
We currently live in Athens, Georgia while John finishes up his final semester at UGA Law and where I work for a local dance studio.

Anything interesting or out of the ordinary you are including in your wedding day?
Because it will be a NYE wedding, we will have a giant countdown clock, NYE hats/noise makers/dress up items, midnight champagne toast, photo booth, and tons of other fun things! We plan to host a wonderful evening of love and celebration that will last until the new year.

Anything else you would like to add?
My family is blessed with crafty women and we plan on countless DIY projects. Since I've had a few years to think about the perfect wedding day, I'm overflowing with inspiration and ideas. I'm sure that our wedding day will  be totally unique and incredibly personal.

We are soooo excited for a NYE wedding. They are some of the most memorable and fun for us and of course you all/guests. It is going to be an a fabulous journey over the next number of months planning and we are honored to share in all of this with you both!
