Pre-Wedding Skin Care

Keeping true to a daily routine is key. Make sure to exfoliate, moisturize, & use SPF 30+ every day for beautiful skin. Using a washcloth to remove makeup remover or cleanser counts as exfoliating.

Wedding Day Makeup

Concentrate on being a flawless, as well as timeless version of yourself. Wedding makeup shouldn’t be trendy or something too different. Example, if you never wear red lipstick- it’s not a good idea to try it out on your wedding day. You want your fiancé to recognize you, and you want to recognize yourself in your photos.

bridal dbj How to wear your makeup

Some factors to consider are: What time of day is your wedding? If it’s daytime, go easier on your makeup. Do you tend to cry a lot? I always anticipate happy tears, so wear waterproof mascara & go lighter on the makeup under your eyes. Try to avoid mascara on the bottom lashes. Are you planning to kiss your new husband all night long? I’m sure you will! Use long wear if you plan to wear color or stick to nudes & gloss.

Should you do a trial run? If so how far out from your wedding date?

Always have a trial run. It’s the best for you & your makeup artist (MUA). Your MUA will need to see your skin in person to make proper recommendations. For my brides, I often give personalized skin care tips. Have your trial as close to the wedding day as possible. Your skin will be almost exactly what it will be on the big day.

Do you come to the bride or must the bride come to you?

I work on location or in studio. It’s up to the bride where she wants me. If on location, I’m fully prepared to bring the beauty experience with me!

What products/line do you prefer to use?

I’m in love with Naked Minerals for foundation. Being a MAC pro, I have tons of MAC in my kit. Smashbox, Urban Decay, & Make Up Forever are more of my favorites.
