To me….what makes a wedding so special, is the uniqueness and personalization that goes into it. I never miss an opportunity to highlight the things that mean the most to my couples. For instance…a guest book is a must…but a traditional pen and paper just wont do anymore! Take a look below for some great ideas to personalize your wedding and leave your guests talking!
Music Lovers
These records look amazing as a feature on your wall, use a Deco Color marker/paint pen to sign them and then frame them. You can even personalize the labels!
If you can part with your instrument or pick a used one up at a local music company, then how could you pass this up? HOW NEAT!!! Again, it can be mounted on your wall and is a great conversation piece when you have guests over.
Wine Lovers
Get some of your favorite wines and grab some of those neat paint pens again…and let your guests sign em’. If you really want to make it special, go to your local wine supply store and ask them to suggest a good wine for your 1, 5, 10, 15 year anniversary, then have your guests sign those. The whole idea is to get a wine that will be perfectly aged by that year milestone. You can keep the bottles forever!
Photo Lovers
If you are planning on having a photo booth at your reception, then this is a great idea…..Most photo booths print out 2 copies of the photo. One for your guest book and one for your guests to keep! (a great favor) This is a great way to get pictures of all of your guests at your wedding.
A less expensive option is a Polaroid camera! Have a guest book attendant take a picture of each guest and put it in a Polaroid Picture Ready Guest book.
This is a hardcover book that can be filled with 20-50 pages of your favorite or engagement photos for your guests to sign…kind of like a coffee table book!
If you would like something simple to display on your wall for your daily viewing pleasure…then this is a great guest book option. You can later add a photo of your wedding, use a favorite photo of your and your fiancé, or have your photographer take a “GROUP SHOT” of all of you and your guests!
The Entertaining Couple
There are many options for the couples that love to entertain…The first is a silver platter by I Do Engravables . The second one is a platter that you can create yourself. Go to a “Paint Your Own Pottery” store and pick your favorite piece, design it, have your guests sign it with a charcoal pencil (or a regular pencil if you are having the PYOP place go over it with paint) and then brining it back to the store to have it flamed!
The Scrapbooking Couple
A wishing tree is an a great way to display your wishes, memories, and advice from your guests. Not to mention how stunning!
A Knot bride had a unique way to document your guests…literally.
Book Lovers
Have your guests sign the pages of your favorite book or a book about where you are getting married. It makes a great coffee table piece and allows your guests to learn more about the area or you as a couple!
We have MANY MORE unique ideas….just ask! And don't forget to PERSONALIZE – PERSONALIZE – PERSONALIZE!
Hello, I love the idea of making your own guest book for a wedding and agree 100% on making things your own especially for a wedding, can you tell me how the envelope guest book was made? with a scrapbook book and what size envelopes? Just out of curiosity.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
I think you could do this easily with a blank hardcover scrapbook and mini envelopes. Not sure the exact directions, although I would guess that the envelopes are glued to the pages and cardstock cut to fit in the envelopes by a printing place. I think the envelopes would depend on your book size and how much room you want your guests to have to write. Good luck! Would love to see your finished version!
