Where did you meet?

We lived two blocks from each other in DC, but never met until we moved all the way to Sioux Falls, SD in 2004 to work on a Senate race.

How did he propose?

Payson planned a surprise "Labor Day Staycation" in DC, complete with mystery dinner reservations and a stay at a local B&B. We arrived at the hotel shortly before midnight, and took the waiting champagne out to the back yard, where he asked me to marry him!

When is your wedding date?

April 4, 2009

Why did you pick the area you are getting married in?

We visited Savannah several times when we were dating - it's our favorite city! Plus, we've been raving about Savannah for years, and this provides our family and friends with the perfect excuse to visit for themselves. We chose the Harper Fowlkes House for the reception because it's got such a great outdoor space with big porches, and it's very Savannah. It's exactly what we had pictured.
